Tire Replacement
Yokohamas are designed to last a long time, but it is important to inspect your tires monthly to ensure proper performance. Once the tread is worn down to 2/32 of an inch, it’s time to get some new Yokohamas.
There are a few ways to easily tell when your tires need replacing:
1) There are treadwear indicator bars (tire wear bars) that will show when the tire tread has reached the legal limit for road use. When the tread is flush with the treadwear indicator bars, it’s time to replace them.
2) You also can insert a penny into the tire tread—with Lincoln’s head upside down. If you can see all of Abe’s head, it means the tread is too worn.
To keep yourself safe, take your vehicle to a mechanic or dealer to quickly check the condition of your Yokohamas.
